Norwegian Day of Mourning

Norway is a small and peaceful country. Today the country mourns.

"In the secret of my heart I am in perpetual quarrel with God that He should allow such things to go on. My non-violence seems almost impotent. But the answer comes at the end of the daily quarrel that neither God nor non-violence is impotent. Impotence is in men. I must try on without losing faith even though I may break in the attempt."-----  Mahatma Gandhi

Please join me in a prayer for all the loved ones lost and for the families who mourn them, myself included.

Thank you for all your kind words and wishes. I will be taking a few days off from blogging.

My best wishes to all the people of Norway. Like a worker said on the Island, I would never have believed that such a thing could happen in Norway, but it did, and we have to deal with it.

That's the proper attitude and shows the goodness in the Norwegian character.

Kindest regards,
Mike

I am still stunned by it all. So many lives lost because of one mad man. It is hard to make sense of it all. My prayers go out to all those involved.

Siv, I am so glad you posted today because you were on my mind all day yesterday. I was born and raised in NYC so I understand what you must be feeling right now. After 911, nothing was the same. It just shows that it can happen anywhere and that is just such a sad commentary on our world.

Dear God! I hope he rots in Hell! Why would anyone do that. It breaks my heart.
I am praying for your country my friend. What a day of mourning you are facing. As I said yesterday this reminds me somewhat of what we experienced during 9/11 and as you know America is still grieving as will the people of Norway for years to come.

I find it so hard to comprehend this kind of tragedy. What makes someone do this? A horrible, horrible tragedy.

Such a horrible event. I don't understand how people can be so cruel. Hard to believe only one man can be the instigator of such devastation.

We stand together in this. "Today we're all Norwegians", "Today we're all AUF", and especially, today we're all fellow human beings, and we all mourn our brothers and sisters.

I hope your family has received good news since you posted on my blog. My thoughts are with everyone affected.

Such an apt quote.

Really hard to understand why anybody would spend their anger on the innocent, but this had become the norm the world over.
