One of the things that I have discovered recently is that chocolate can turn someone into a criminal. The postal service employees cannot be trusted when it comes to chocolate. Sending gifts in the mail to my children overseas has always been expensive and difficult. Sometimes things have gotten broken or lost and maybe even stolen, but this time somewhere along the way from Norway to Denver a simple chocolate bar was cut out of the bottom of an envelope and all that remained was a birthday card. Since the envelope was marked with a toll sticker that stated the contents clearly, I can only assume that the thief had an incredible urge for chocolate. What has the world come to when the desire for chocolate outweighs a simple morality lesson that should have been installed at birth?
Have you ever experienced problems with the postal service? I am looking forward to the day when we can transport merchandise instantly over the internet. Imagine if we could “Whisper” merchandise just like we can do on Amazon, and while sitting on Skype we can see that chocolate bar or whatever, suddenly appear in front of our intended receiver. I can dream can’t I?

Sometimes mail will get lost. That's the only problem I've ever had.
Well this is Africa, of course we have postal problems, that's why everyone now uses courier services :)
But seriously, the postal service isn't doing too well anywhere anymore. Thanks to e-mail. Peoples morals and dependability have also gone out of service, weird hey?
Bless you Siv, Geoff.
Eeep! That's unacceptable. I can't believe someone stole the chocolate bar intended for someone else. Some people have no shame.
That is terrible! Hope they reported the missing candy bar. Nothing will happen, but at least it's a red flag there is a thief somewhere along the route.
The same thing happened to me a few months ago!! I sent a package to my father in the US. But somewhere along the line, a small hole was cut into the box and the French dry sausage that was in there...gone! Dirty rats!!
oH MY HECK! Yes my mom sent my sister and I our birth certificates. She insured them and everything. It took six months for us to get them because they were lost in a bin. They found them when someone was going to USE said bin. Talk about irritating!
My mother lives abroad and she had to stop sending cheques to the girls because so many went missing - it's not like they could even cash them. We quite often get birthday cards that have been slit open - even though she now writes 'no cash enclosed' on them.
I know mail gets lost. I understand people make mistakes....that's just life. Even I, a chocoholic, would never steal a candy bar out of a card. The postal employees,
especially, should never, ever steal mail!
