FACETIOUS AND LIKING IT

Here is a word that makes you buckle your belt and burp. Welcome to my Facetious world, if it were not for my facetious nature and my love of  facetiae I would be too serious and most likely bored to death. So here you go, I know you need a defination:

Facetious, adj. plural noun meaning--Witty or humorous sayings or writings
  • not meant to be taken seriously or literally: a facetious remark.
  • amusing; humorous.
  • lacking serious intent; concerned with something nonessential, amusing, or frivolous: a facetious person.
Minnie would be my work of facetiae. As usual she has something to say on the matter.

FACETIOUS

Minnie-ism for today:
"Now you have gone and done it! I fa•ce'tious•ly disagree in labels! Color my butt green and sit on a cow!"

So tell me, Do you have it in you to be facetious and do you like it?

Facetious humor is probably the sort that comes most naturally to me, and in my rela life, is probably the most common. I know online, I'm quite the nut, but that over-the-top thing embarrasses my children... My son and I have whole conversations in facetiae... *teehee*

You might not think so by reading my blog, but I'm as facetious as they come when I'm with family and close friends. Minnie's point about labels is spot on!

Oh Siv,
That is a great word and it describes me as well! I sometimes have to remember that all of my students don't understand my wit becuase they are autistic but we learn together! It is just who I am...glad to hear you are as well.
Great post!
Happy A to Z!

The Queen of English is never facetious -- not meant to be taken seriously.
Every word that comes from the Queen's mouth is serious, except for her occasional hyperbole. She strives for witty. Sometimes she actually is.
