DAFT and DAFFY

According to the dictionary, Daft is an Old English-derived word for silly, stupid, or mad, depending on context. So I could be Daft for what I say, Daft for what I do, or just plain Daft. Monty Python says it well:

“Listen, lad. I built this kingdom up from nothing. When I started here, all there was was swamp. Other kings said I was Daft to build a castle on a swamp, but I built it all the same, just to show 'em. It sank into the swamp. So, I built a second one. That sank into the swamp. So I built a third one. That burned down, fell over, then sank into the swamp. But the fourth one... stayed up! And that's what you're gonna get, lad: the strongest castle in these islands.”

DAFT
Minnie-ism for today:
" Being Daft  is an art-form that very few appreciate, being good at it all depends on the company one keeps."

---It was Daft of me to leave those freshly picked wild mushrooms locked in a classroom over the holidays. When the students returned the next monday morning the stench in that classroom was overwelming.

I think this hat is Daft

What Daftly deed have you done? Maybe you have seem something you thought was really Daft?

Since I have Daftly made my point, there is nothing Daft about being Daft, and to further prove my point I should like to leave you with a Daffy moment:

sigh, those old cartoons were wonderful! Memories, memories! I think I'm daft for attempting 2 blogs covering A-Z (perhaps daft is too gentle a word?)

HA! Love Daffy Duck. I think it is healthy to be a bit daft lest we take ourselves too seriously and forget how to laugh at ourselves.

I love Monty Python, had to read the sketch back in a Yorkshire accent just to get it right. Brilliantly funny :)

Love this Siv!

The daftest thing I ever did was put Bazuka Verruca Gel in my eye instead of an eye ointment I'd been precribed. We were treating my sons verruca at the time and both tubes were on the side. I did it without thinking! Can you imagine!

I spent a few hours in A & E but thankfully everything was fine after a good washing out of my eye.

warm wishes

PS - When we named the boys we were looking for a good strong Celtic name that we loved as much as Cameron. Callum was the only one we liked and there are times I wish I'd called them both the same thing - we're constantly calling them the wrong name! And when they are older and post comes addressed to : C White

That will be interesting!

Shaving a huge heart in my husbands chest hair was daft. Or chopping my nipple off (well alsmost! Thanksfully it's still there) with a lemon slicer was a bit daft. I'm gonna have to say (with my head hung low, but a grin on my face) I may be daft my friend!

I adore that argument... nothing daft about being daft... *giggles* And Monty Python and Loony Tunes are both perfect humor matches for me--great post!

Monty Python and Daffy Duck! Two of my favorite people..err ducks...I agree that hat is daft. I never quite understood why it is women wear hats like that. It kind of reminds of the emperor's new clothes.

Love it! I think we should all have a healthy dose of daftness on occasion to keep us sane in times of hardship and trouble. There needs to be more fun and positive outlook in our oft troubled world.

Have fun and be daffy!
