Crop Circles

This month Minnie is exploring the alphabet by digging out the unusual, often unexplained and alternative way of thinking. Stories of creatures, places and mysteries that have been passed down to us through centuries tease our imagination, live in our dreams and dare us to explore the impossible. Join Minnie each day as she discovers something unusual in the alphabet.

“Alien tattoo artists doing it on the ground, what else could it be?”

The media first wrote about Crop circles in 1980, when the first real Newspaper report was published on a grouping of Circles that appeared in Wiltshire, England. However, many Farmers have mentioned that circles have been on their land for generations. Most likely Crop Circles have been around a lot longer than the recent history we know of, but there is little evidence supporting that fact.

A popular modern mystery, Crop circles are the formation of intricate and often beautiful patterns of flattened grass and crops appearing in fields all over the world. In many cases crop circles appeared in a very short space of time and with a level of complexity that seemed to go beyond anything that could be produced so quickly by pranksters. Strange phenomena would sometimes be detected inside the circles themselves such as unusual magnetic readings and electrical devices failing for no apparent reason.

Messages by aliens, communication from another dimension, magnetic fields, or are the Crop Circles some way linked to Ancient Sites? Some believe the circles to be spiritual in nature and that they represent messages from a higher intelligence. Whatever the case, to this day crop circles continue to appear in fields around the world, sometimes created by man but for the most part they remain a mystery.

Even if people take hours and time to create crop circles, they are still very interesting to look at.

Great post, thanks for sharing.

This is something that really baffles. I've never seen one in real life - but the photos are gorgeous. The one you've highlighted particularly so.

Hi, I enjoyed your post and the crop circles have always made me wonder, too. I guess we may never know. Just another of life's mysteries.
My regards to you. Thank you for the post.

This Ozark Farm Chick popped over from Journalin' Woman's place and I've had a blast and a half polkin' 'round in here.

Don't worry, I put everything back just the way it was..I'm twisted like that.

As a young chicklett growin' up we experienced an unexplained crop circle back behind the chicken coop. 'Just weird for sure.

From the happy hills and hollers of the majestic Missouri Ponderosa, ya'll have a blessed and beautiful day now, ya hear!!! :o)

Well, there are charletons everywhere but there is also a mystery to the crop circles as well as faith healing, angels, ghosts....you get my point.

There's always someone out there that has to make everyone a non-believer.

Hope that made sense. I'm on my second cup of hot tea.

There're loads of them in the UK - in Norway too? I've never heard of one here in Portugal, so something must be getting at the fields in Northern Europe. I can't believe they're human-made, they're too perfect (some of them)

Loved unexplained phenomenons.... How arrogant can anyone be, to believe that we are the only creatures in the universe, especially when there are so many clues left on our planet.

Well done, Sis.

Crop circles are fascinating and mysterious. I didn't know about the unusual activity inside the circles, though.
