Need Some Help Please

Break in the Storm, just seemed fitting

There is this poetry contest that I would like to enter and I have narrowed my choice down to two poems. Since I can only enter one of them, I need some help deciding which one.  So if there are any poets out there, I would appreciate your feedback.

My Mothers Heart

A weary heart seeks comfort where it roams
Will make a nest and call it home
Too many times on the road alone
The weary heart can never say no
Years may pass and lovers fail at will
They never know the weary heart is beating still
The familiar rhythm beats and soars
Until the weary heart beats no more

The Air we Share

We do not choose them they are just there
Like quiet desperation or the air we share
A mother, a father a sister or brother
A broken old chair we would give to no other
You hate them and love them, and wipe away tears
You come and you go but they're always there
Life won’t always give you the people you want
Or endings to stories that you would have bought

This contest is open to anyone, so why not challenge the poet in you and submit your entry as well. Don' forget though to let me know which one of these two poems is your favorite. I really appreciate your help, so thank you for taking the time.  Have a great day everyone, and I'll see you soon somewhere between the lines.

They're both beautiful! The first one really struck me though. I would pick that one. :0)

I went back and forth with them about three times, but, I think, the second. I absolutely love the 1st 2 lines of the first poem, though, just for the record

I am SO glad I dropped by today SIS... These are LOVELY. You really do have the SOUL for poetry writing.

ALthough I loved both, I found the second one to really hit home. It's unique in a way that makes us think. A riddle within the prose.... Lovely. I love mystery in writing and here you have it.

Good luck sweetie. I know you'll do wonderfully.

Both are extremely worthy of entering but the first one really hit a chord with me. :)

I know I'm probably too late, but I really like the Air We Share. It struck me as I am going through some stuff with my family. Good luck with the contest. :)
