Eye Spy is on the run today with a guest post at A-Z blogging challenge. Social networking is an amazing thing and if you want to find out
how it changed my life forever and the lives of others, pop on over there and
read about it. Many of you have already heard the story, but I never get tired
of telling it. After all, it is one of those happy endings!
Since it is the first Wednesday of the month it is also time
for The Insecure Writers Support Group. No matter how many books you have
written or how famous you are, there is always room for encouragement and
support. That is what this group is all about, and if you are a writer you must
have felt insecure at one time or another. My focus today is time and
the lack of it. How do you choose to prioritize? Setting goals and keeping them is
easier said than done. Something always seems to come along to change my plans especially if I am in the middle of a creative thought (or two). Change of plans and starting
over is something I have gotten
used to. There are not enough hours in the day and sometimes I have to make a
choice. We all do because even though many of us would like to live in a little
“Writing Bubble,” most of us do not. So for all my blogging /writing friends
that I have not managed to get around to as much as I would have liked to…I am
so sorry, time just keeps popping holes in my bubble. My priorities are first family,
then book, short stories, and lastly blogging. What are yours? Do you also
suffer from bubble holes?
Have a great day, and don’t forget to come back on Friday to
see what Mom is cooking for dinner! If you want the pink panther to come around and do an official---EYE SPY---Let me know.

I'm a stay at home mum and can't sit down to write at all during the day. A few minutes here and there on the net is all my 3 year old will allow! So I have to write in the evenings when my children are in bed.
There are times when I'd love to spend that time relaxing in front of the tv but I'd never get anything written then.
I loved the A to Z Challenge and survived it! Being able to blog daily proved to me that I can commit to writing on my novel daily too. We do what's important to us. Like you, family comes first then writing.
I popped over from your guest post. Thrilled for you and the "growth" of your family! :)
right now as far as writing is going, i would have to say my blog
I'm a stay-at-home mom, too. And like Mama J, I usually try to write in the evenings when my four little ones are sleeping-unless I'm too tired, which lately I have been. So I do try to write five minutes here and ten minutes there when things aren't too crazy.
You mean there's a time when you stop being worried about your writing and can actually focus long enough to prioritize it? Hmmm. Have not gotten there yet. :)
More like bubble craters.
Haven't made it to the A to Z blog yet, but I will! Family always comes first. Writing and blogging are a close second. Movies and guitar playing come in third. Hey, I have my priorities!
I did a priority check and took blogging down a notch and now that I'm ready to make time for it again, it's amazing how overwhelming it is... i have to start all over, rekindle broken friendships and network like crazy. Still, I needed my break and sometimes when we start back over, we see things a little more clearly.
Getting my priorities straight is definitely one area I need to work on. I seem to get easily distracted and then it's days or weeks before I get back to a project. I'm like a birf that way. LOL On my way to check out the A to Z post.
I agree, there are not enough hours in any and every day! I resent sleep. I wish I could just keep going. I hate that necessary intrusion! I want more time!
And...how do I get word verification off? Help!
Nice to meet you! : )
I can relate to your concerns with time. I find I make the wrong choices and wind up not writing. I give blogging quite a bit of priority, especially reading other people's blogs. I know it's time to take myself seriously and write. That's one reason I joined this group. Thanks for this input. It was helpful to me.
Yup--there always seem to be holes in any bubble I try to create. My priorities are family, school, writing, and blogging.
