Summers End

October has always been one of my favorite months. I love the smell of it, the colors that span the horizon and the feel of the crisp air against my cheek. The last traces of summer scatter in the wind and as I walk on a colored path of leaves towards winter, summer will end, but I will carry this one with me always.

Summers End
The flavor of summer has changed.
The clouds rolled in to let me know
that soon the ground will be covered in snow.
The trees sigh, the flowers bow,
the harvest waits the farmers plow.
It is time for the night to sing its song
and bend the days to sing along.
While we watch this summers end
and taste the autumn on its breath,
we gather its bounty in our arms
and lay the ground so soon to rest.

This Saturday I will be trading in the beauty of a Norwegian October for one in Denver Colorado and Mpls., Minnesota. If any of my blogging friends are in this area I would love to meet you. Just send me an e-mail and let me know. Next time you hear from me I will be sitting someplace far away, looking out another window and enjoying the company of my son.

Wish me luck on my journey because I seriously do not enjoy long plane trips or airports.

I love fall too; bright and crisp, without the overbearing heat. Plus, Halloween, and, in Canada, Thanksgiving (I do love my grub;) ).
Thanks for stopping by. I was following from the Crusader Challenge.

I don't enjoy long plane trips either, but you'll have a wonderful time with your children so it'll be worth it! Have an awesome trip!

Hate to fly as well! Enjoy Colorado. Beautiful state. Sorry, I'm over on the east coast.

Today in Denver the weather will be in the 80's F, tomorrow it could be 40 or 50 F. Bring a change of clothes. Minnesota will be a lot cooler and the autumn colors more intense. I lived there for awhile. Looking forward to seeing you.

Enjoy Colorado & Minnesota. My husband's (Norwegian) family all live in Minnesota, in Appleton & Milan. As far as the plane trip goes, a few stiff drinks works wonders!

That was a GORGEOUS poem Sis.

You truly have a gift of words when your passion flows.

So far so good. It looks like I might be seeing you in a few short weeks.

Safe travel Sis...

Until we meet.

Your loving Bro
