Sentimental Reunion

Life is full of surprises and I have certainly had my fair share.
It was a surprise to me that I found my sons father with little effort after 35 years on Facebook. It was a surprise to me that he wanted to get involved and to know his son. It was a surprise to me that we would become friends and one day stand together with our son, who we had given up for adoption so many years ago. Monday, we all got to spend the day together. He flew in from Texas for a meeting related to his job a day early in order to spend time with us. It was a very surreal experience that is hard to put into words. It was cold and raining that day, so we just went out for lunch and spent the day hanging out at our sons apartment. We looked at pictures, reminisced and talked about the future. In a strange sentimental sort of way the hours pasted quickly and then we drove him back to his hotel and said good-bye. I don’t know when I will see him again but I am glad that my son got the chance to spend a day with both his parents. It may have been surreal for all of us, but as I said, life is full of surprises.

Father, Son and Mom together for the first time

People say he looks like both of us. I think he looks more like me, but then again, I guess I am partial. What do you guys think?

Our sons wolf is indifferent, here he is all upset because he can't play with the frog brothers

Denvers Zombie Crawl is coming up and I am undecided, should I dress up as a zombie, or not? Have a great day and I will be back soon with more updates on my trip!

Astounding story, Siv. Incredible for you all - it must have been such a poignant reunion and is the stuff book's are made of :) I think your son looks like both of you.

I'm sorry Siv, I think he looks like both of you 50%! LOL I know that isn't what you wanted to hear but can definitely see both of you in his cute features :) It's supposed to be that way though :)
