Random Acts of Kindness

It has been awhile since I have posted anything on my blog but things are about to change. The first draft of my manuscript is finally finished and now I have more time to cyber-share with my friends. I could think of no better way to start posting again than to join this great blog party celebrating hope and human kindness. “Random Acts of Kindness” is a blogfest sponsored by my friends at Wayman Publishing, and from May 27-31 you can also contribute to spreading hope around the world. Please follow this link for more details. "Open Doors: Fractured Fairy Tales" and many other great books will be free from May 27th-31st on Amazon as part of Wayman's Random Acts of Kindness Event.

For the past two years that I have been blogging I have seen an incredible amount of kindness and support in the writing community and through the many friends that I have met here. They have given me support through hardships with not only my endeavor to become a published author, but also in my daily struggles as a woman and mother living in a foreign country far away from most of my family. The most recent kindness that I have encountered is from my fellow blogger and friend SusanRoebuck who has spent countless hours helping me finish my book. Her constructive critiquing, guidance and moral support has meant the world to me.

There are many small random acts of kindness that we encounter in everyday life: The person who gives you their place in front of them while standing in line, the neighbor that brings you food when you are sick or borrows you money when you are poor, the friend that gives you a ride to the hospital or airport when your car breaks down, and the stranger who returns your lost wallet. What I find amazing is that whenever I feel that there is no hope for mankind, some small act of kindness happens to me or those I love. I may not have a grand story to offer you in this blogfest, but I did want to share my belief in the human spirit. Focus on the small acts of kindness, random or not, because that will get you through difficult times and serve as a reminder that there is hope after all.

I've missed you, Siv. I am temporarily internet-less at home so I have unable to visit my friends. Drat!

Each day I strive to do at least one random act of kindness when I might be tempted to go on my way.

If we all did that, wouldn't this be a happier world?

Congratulations on your book! Roland

Sending BIG hugs across the big pond.

Acts of kindness can be hard to find at times but when they happen, even the smallest acts can make a big difference.

It was a pleasure, Siv. You did all the hard work, and your book deserves to be a best-seller.
