Bugs A-Z Adventure

Well as promised, here is the collected tale of Bug on his A-Z adventure.  Hope you guys had as much fun as I did.

Bugs Blogging Alphabet Adventure

---Bug put on his slippery glasses and ran up the tree just in time to see the brown patch fall from the sky. He was really getting sick and tired of listening to the noice it made as it fell, and how it made his feet itch.

Putting on his saucepan hat, he waddled on his back for a few miles until he fell over a tiny planet. He picked it up and threw it back into space, where it bounced up and down every time bug sang.

Bug's singing was beautiful, his voice spiralled upwards, perfectly in tune. The tiny planet soared up up up,

until it splat, raining debris all over Bug and making his feet itch again.

With those itchy feet bug ran down the tree. When he did Bug landed right smack dab in the middle of a boat.

Bug wanted to eat toast so he searched for someone to make it, an elephant, maybe, but he could only find a frog in the boat. Now he needed a toaster.

The boat sailed along a river of chocolate, past shops filled with blenders, espresso machines, and food processors, until it ran aground onto a shore of toffee chips.

The toffee chips were playing musical chairs, so bug stood on his head. His itchy feet danced and it inspired the goblin to sing.

Bug loved the song. It inspired new feelings in his heart and that's when the transformation began.

His arms began to spasm and one shrunk into his body while the other one grew twice the length. His face contorted into a mask resembling a witch doctors.

His crabby mood he had been in since that morning started to slip away and a grin started spreading from one side of his face to the other. But that grin was cut short when he heard something startling from across the room.

No...No, not possible - the gremlin couldn't have found him . He'd laughed his sides a-splitting, no more tickling!

Bug grabbed a feather and off he ran after the gremlin who was afraid to be tickled and terrified of feathers.

He ran straight into a rift in the spacetime continuum where he got tossed back and forth in several dimensions, landing, finally, in the home of the gremlin. And in his home was

the frog. It had been in the boat, but then it wasn't in the boat. It was in a dream. No. It was in the gremlin's home screaming "Wake up, wake up, would everybody just wake up!" But only the snark sniveled and sidled, sipping and salivating and sipping some more.

He took his sticky pad out to catch the sky. and then he trampolined out of the way before it hit him on the run.

Bug decided his adventures would make a good story so he posted it on his blog for the A to Z Blogging challenge.

Many people saw the blog and a strange thing happened--as they read it, their feet began to itch.

The itching was so intense that he

morphed into flame. His skin crakled and sizzled. When it stopped, his body felt different

and as he looked down at his feet he saw the most beautiful rainbows where his toes used to be. The itchyness was gone but he was completely exhausted and still in need of toast. Bug flew over his rainbow feet and catching the Gremlins icy fingers he flew them both up to the top of the tree to search for more frogs and maybe a toaster.

HEX

A hex is a magical spell, usually with malevolent purposes such as a curse. The term is derived from the German word Hexe for a witch. In Norwegian heks is also the word for witch. The past few years have been loaded with books, TV series, and movies all about witches and witchcraft. We all know that there are good witches and bad witches. Only bad ones or very stupid ones would ever hex someone. (please be advised, the rest of this article may be offensive to some, if you are easily offended for religious reasons, please do not continue reading.)

How to play GIBBERISH

Gibberish is unintelligible or nonsensical talk or writing. Basically nonsense. Gobbledygook is any text  that results in it being excessively hard to understand or even incomprehensible. Put the two of them together and you have one of my all time favorite games. My children and I still play this game often. Here is how you play:

Using only nonsense that somehow ends up making sense you build a story. Each player takes a turn and adds onto the story until a natural ending occurs, or in this case, until Minnie decides to end the game. This is a really fun way to boost your creative energy. As usual Minnie has something to say about this. She is rather crabby today so don't pay much attention to her. She can be a real spoil sport at times.

Gibberish and Gobbledygook

"Hostess with the mostest and master Gibberist, those who play live longer"

So, anyone out there want to play? I know you are all SO busy, but how about a little creative fun? Go ahead, grab a cup of coffee. Minnie will start and lets see who is brave enough to continue.

Here is an example of our very first game:

---Bug put on his slippery glasses and ran up the tree just in time to see the brown patch fall from the sky. He was really getting sick and tired of listening to the noice it made as it fell, and how it made his feet itch....

Your turn, just put a sentence or two in the comment box, Follow this storyline and the comment before you and lets see what happens next.

FACETIOUS AND LIKING IT

Here is a word that makes you buckle your belt and burp. Welcome to my Facetious world, if it were not for my facetious nature and my love of  facetiae I would be too serious and most likely bored to death. So here you go, I know you need a defination:

Facetious, adj. plural noun meaning--Witty or humorous sayings or writings
  • not meant to be taken seriously or literally: a facetious remark.
  • amusing; humorous.
  • lacking serious intent; concerned with something nonessential, amusing, or frivolous: a facetious person.
Minnie would be my work of facetiae. As usual she has something to say on the matter.

FACETIOUS

Minnie-ism for today:
"Now you have gone and done it! I fa•ce'tious•ly disagree in labels! Color my butt green and sit on a cow!"

So tell me, Do you have it in you to be facetious and do you like it?

ENERGY- Not Wasted On Me

Energy is the ability to do work and it comes in  many different forms: heat, light, motion, electrical, chemical, nuclear energy and gravitational. We use energy for everything we do, from runnig, to baking a cake or for something as amazing as sending astronauts into space.

There are two types of energy, stored and working. For example, the food you eat contains chemical energy, and your body stores this energy until you use it when you work or play. When we think or read or write, we are also doing work. Many times it's really hard work! When we use electricity in our home, the electrical power was probably generated by burning coal or wood, by a nuclear reaction, or by a hydroelectric plant at a dam. Therefore, coal, wood, nuclear and hydro are called energy sources.

Minnie has gone green today!

ENERGY

Minnie-ism for today:

"Energy can be bought and sold, used and wasted; I never waste my energy, although I do prefer it in capsule form as often as I can get it, and if not… then liquid form works well too."

Energy waste and the greenhouse effect is on everyones mind today. The Ozone layer is being destroyed and global temperatures are increasing. Scary, yet odd enough, not so far from "Chicken Littles" thoughts on the sky falling.

We recycle, use enery efficient lightbulbs,we are conscience about turning off lights and other electrical things, we leave our thermostats turned low, and we don't waste warm water. Yes believe it or not, I did spend some time as a teacher. What are some of the things you do to save energy? Do you even think about it? Don't let energy be wasted on you. It certainly is not wasted on me.

DAFT and DAFFY

According to the dictionary, Daft is an Old English-derived word for silly, stupid, or mad, depending on context. So I could be Daft for what I say, Daft for what I do, or just plain Daft. Monty Python says it well:

“Listen, lad. I built this kingdom up from nothing. When I started here, all there was was swamp. Other kings said I was Daft to build a castle on a swamp, but I built it all the same, just to show 'em. It sank into the swamp. So, I built a second one. That sank into the swamp. So I built a third one. That burned down, fell over, then sank into the swamp. But the fourth one... stayed up! And that's what you're gonna get, lad: the strongest castle in these islands.”

DAFT
Minnie-ism for today:
" Being Daft  is an art-form that very few appreciate, being good at it all depends on the company one keeps."

---It was Daft of me to leave those freshly picked wild mushrooms locked in a classroom over the holidays. When the students returned the next monday morning the stench in that classroom was overwelming.

I think this hat is Daft

What Daftly deed have you done? Maybe you have seem something you thought was really Daft?

Since I have Daftly made my point, there is nothing Daft about being Daft, and to further prove my point I should like to leave you with a Daffy moment:

CHANGE, Who Me?

So here we are on day 3 of the challenge and on to the letter C. Thank you for all the wonderful comments I have recieved so far. I have really enjoyed reading eveyones posts.  I  comment as much as I can and I think I have done a good job of working my way through the blogs. Over 1200 entries, Isn't that fantastic? I think that the people hosting this have really done a great job and as a new blogger I am grateful to them for opening the door into a whole new world. I was sceptical about blogging and about this challenge, which brings me to todays challenge.

CHANGE

Minnie-ism for today:

---"Change is unavoidable, the more you do it, the more you get used to it, the more you get used to it, the less you care."

Doing the same thing over and over again when it is not working, and expecting different results is a sign of stupidity. I read that some where and it stuck. Sometimes we just have to change our tactics, change our perspective and change our lives. Lets face it, change is not always easy and it can be terrifying at times. We don't even always have the choice.

The scariest change I ever made was my choice, but moving to another country was a hard choice to make. I left most of my family and all of my friends. I left everything I owned and a good job. I came to Norway with two suitcases, and the only  Norwegian words I knew were, "Takk for maten" and "Jeg elsker deg" which means, "Thank you for the food, and I love you."  Since I planned on doing more than eating and falling in love, I knew that I would have to learn another language. My mother did not speak Norwegian to us while growing up, and as you can probably guess by my name, I am Norwegian. While we are on the subject of my name, it is pronounced Seev, like Steve without the T. I stress this because while growing up in the states it really irritated me when everyone always said my name wrong. To this day when I hear people mispronouncing the name of Liv Tyler, or any other Liv, I cringe.

Getting back on track, after my mother got a divorce she moved back to Norway, and after I got a divorce I went on a "vacation" to visit her. After a short trip home again, just long enough to get my affairs in order and pack a bag, I returned to Norway and love has kept me here ever since. I have been happily married to the same wonderful man now for over 20 years. So what is the biggest change you have ever had to make? Was it scary? Did you have a choice? I believe that through all the changes in my life I have become a stronger person and a less frightend one.
